From Blueprints to Brushstrokes: A Tribute from AirZone’s Past President

We recently had a special visit from Brent Lewis — co-founder and former president of AirZone HVAC Services — who’s been enjoying his retirement years discovering new hobbies and hidden talents. One of those talents? Painting.

Brent surprised our team with this beautiful artwork, now proudly hanging at our head office at 174 Colonnade Rd #27 in Ottawa. It features a hand-painted depiction of Parliament Hill surrounded by both winter and spring scenery, complete with two cheerful HVAC technicians representing Steve Teskey and Taylor Lewis with the AirZone logo at the center — a perfect nod to our year-round dedication to keeping Ottawa homes comfortable.

Reflecting on Our Roots

Brent and Steve Teskey started AirZone in 2005 out of a modest home in Kanata. Frustrated by the lack of care in the HVAC industry, they set out to build something better — a company focused on quality work, honest service, and a no-pressure approach to helping homeowners. Brent brought the customer-first sales and service mindset, while Steve delivered technical excellence on every install.

Together, they created a legacy that still defines our team today.

A Family-Driven Company, Then and Now

As AirZone grew, so did the team. Brent’s wife Wendy played a major role behind the scenes by streamlining our operations. Later, their son Taylor joined as a comfort advisor, followed by Taylor’s wife Samantha, who helped improve our customer booking experience. This family-driven approach shaped the company and is part of what makes AirZone stand out from other HVAC providers in Ottawa.

Why Quality and Certification Matter

When it comes to HVAC installation, not all companies are created equal. At AirZone, we’ve built our reputation by refusing to cut corners. We only send directly employed, fully licensed, and TSSA-certified technicians into our clients’ homes — never subcontractors. This means every installation meets strict safety and quality standards, and every technician follows the same customer-first approach that Brent and Steve instilled from the very beginning. It’s the difference between a job that’s just done — and a job that’s done right.

Art That Tells a Story

The painting isn’t just a creative expression — it’s a reflection of Brent’s journey. From his early days walking job sites with blueprints in hand, to today’s peaceful moments with a paintbrush, his passion for craftsmanship and community hasn’t changed.

It’s a reminder to all of us at AirZone of where we came from and the high standards we continue to uphold.

“We’re proud to carry on the legacy that Brent and Steve built — with honesty, hard work, and a commitment to doing things right the first time.”

Stop By and See It

If you’re in the area, feel free to stop by our Ottawa office and check out the painting in person. And while you’re here, ask us how we can help with your furnace, air conditioner, or heat pump needs — we’d love to show you the same honest service that Brent and Steve started nearly two decades ago.
