What kind of heat pump is the RD17AZ?

The RD17AZ is a side-discharge heat pump for heating and cooling. Its outdoor unit connects to compatible indoor equipment.

Can it work with my existing furnace?

It supports a range of system configurations, including non-communicating systems. Your existing furnace, coil, controls and airflow still need to be checked for compatibility.

Will every installation support the EcoNet app?

No. Rheem specifies EcoNet operation with a complete AHRI-matched, EcoNet-enabled Rheem system. The controls available depend on the equipment selected.

What efficiency rating should I expect?

Ask for the rating of the exact outdoor and indoor combination in your quote. Ratings depend on the exact model and matched system. The family name alone does not establish performance.

Does it qualify as a cold-climate system?

Rheem lists qualifying AHRI-matched, EcoNet-enabled RD17AZ systems as cold-climate certified. Confirm the selected combination and discuss your home’s heating requirements and backup-heat plan.

Is a rebate guaranteed?

I am extremely pleased with AirZone and in particular Max. Our furnace was red tagged by another company and I had doubts of its legitimacy. Max completed a visit and confirmed my suspicions and was able to reverse the red tag.
