Product Pairings

The Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat range offers ductless and centrally ducted heating and cooling options. Some ductless Hyper-Heat models can operate in heating at -30°C, depending on conditions. Documented R-410A multi-zone configurations include systems with up to eight indoor units; the permitted number and heating output depend on the exact model and approved combination.

Centrally ducted Hyper-Heat options use a compatible Mitsubishi air handler and may use existing ductwork after an airflow assessment. Some documented combinations provide 100% of rated heating capacity at -15°C. Whether an installation can replace an existing heat source depends on the home’s heat loss and the selected system’s cold-weather output; supplemental heat may be needed.

This unit also provides incredible efficiencies in air conditioning season and a whisper quiet operation that will make you the envy of the neighbourhood.

Please note that the large price range is due to the number of inside heads needed.

Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat and Hyper-Heat PLUS FAQs

What do Hyper-Heat and Hyper-Heat PLUS mean?

Hyper-Heat is Mitsubishi Electric’s cold-climate heat pump technology. Hyper-Heat PLUS is used for specific equipment, including the FS series. These names cover different systems, so compare the exact outdoor and indoor model numbers in your quote.

Can Hyper-Heat work in a home without ductwork?

Yes. Ductless configurations can serve an individual room or multiple zones. Indoor-unit style, placement and compatible combinations depend on the selected system. For a centrally ducted installation, see our Mitsubishi ZUBA Central page.

How many rooms can one outdoor unit serve?

Single-zone and multi-zone options are available. The number and size of indoor units must suit the outdoor model and each room’s heating and cooling needs. Confirm the proposed combination rather than assuming every Hyper-Heat system supports the same number of zones.

Will Hyper-Heat cover all of my home’s winter heating?

That depends on the system and your home’s heat loss. Cold-weather capacity and operating limits vary by model. Before replacing an existing heat source, have the selected system’s output assessed against Ottawa winter conditions and discuss any supplemental heating required.

What should I compare between Hyper-Heat quotes?

Compare the complete equipment combination, room coverage, cold-weather heating output, efficiency ratings and included controls. Ask which warranty terms apply to that combination. A family name or a brochure’s highest rating alone does not describe every installation.
