Will a 50-gallon Maximus provide enough hot water for my home?
That depends on your household’s hot-water use and the model’s heating capacity. Different 50-gallon Maximus models have different first-hour ratings, which describe how much hot water they can deliver in the first hour starting with a heated tank. What does MaxMode do?
MaxMode is designed for periods of higher hot-water demand, such as when you have guests. Rheem reports up to 15% more hot-water delivery in the first hour compared with the same unit operating in normal mode. Actual performance depends on the model and operating conditions.
Can I monitor the Rheem Maximus from my phone?
Canadian Professional Prestige Maximus models have built-in Wi-Fi for use with Rheem’s EcoNet app. You can check hot-water availability, adjust the water temperature, select operating modes and receive service alerts. Remote features require a Wi-Fi broadband internet connection and the EcoNet app.
Does the Maximus include leak detection and automatic water shutoff?
The Canadian Professional Prestige Maximus includes LeakSense, which alerts you to water leaks from the heater. Automatic water shutoff requires an optional valve accessory sold separately. If you want this additional protection, ask AirZone to include the valve in your installation quote.
Can a Rheem Maximus replace my existing gas hot water tank?
It can be a replacement option, but your installation needs to be assessed first. The Maximus supports power-vent and power-direct-vent configurations and requires suitable gas and electrical supplies, venting and a condensate drain. What warranty comes with the Rheem Maximus?
