The right help for your system

Which heating system needs attention?

If you're unsure which part of your heating system is causing the trouble, describe what you notice when you book. Include the equipment type and model if you have them.

Furnaces

For a furnace that won't heat, blows cool air or repeatedly stops, see our furnace repair service for equipment-specific symptoms and visit details.

Heat pumps and ductless systems

Tell us whether the problem affects one room or the whole home, and whether heating, cooling or both have changed. Our heat pump repair page explains the dedicated service.

Boilers and hydronic heating

When your boiler or water-based heating system isn't keeping rooms comfortable, a diagnostic visit helps identify the fault and the available repair options. Tell us whether the issue affects every zone or a particular area.

Gas fireplaces

We help with gas fireplace repairs where suitable parts are available. Some parts are difficult to source, so share the brand, model and symptoms first. We do not service wood-burning fireplaces. Gas fireplace service details.

Diagnosis before a decision

Understand the problem before choosing a repair

  1. Describe what changed

Let us know when the problem began, which rooms are affected and any displayed error message. You don't need to work out the cause yourself.

  2. Have the equipment assessed

Your technician examines the affected equipment and performs the tests needed to investigate the issue. The diagnostic visit covers this assessment, separately from repair work.

  3. Review the next step

You'll receive an explanation of the findings and a written quote for recommended repairs. We explain the options so you can make an informed choice.

Why choose AirZone for your heating diagnostic?

Our directly employed technicians give you a clear explanation of the problem and a written repair quote. You can ask questions, understand the work being recommended and decide how to proceed with the same local team that has served Ottawa homeowners since 2005.

If a repair can be completed during the visit, we'll discuss it with you. If it needs a part or another appointment, we'll explain what happens next.

Repair or replacement? Start with the facts.

The next step depends on the equipment's condition, age, repair history and the proposed repair cost, along with your comfort needs. We explain the findings so you can compare the options. A heating problem doesn't automatically mean you need a new system. For furnace-specific guidance, see our furnace repair page.

Plan your service visit

Regular and scheduled after-hours appointments

Regular-hours service

From $149 per hour + HST

Book during regular business hours when your heating concern can safely wait. Higher rates apply to statutory holidays and emergency service.

Scheduled after-hours service

From $225 per hour + HST

Ask about an appointment outside regular business hours. Scheduled after-hours visits are separate from emergency service. Higher rates apply to statutory holidays.

These are starting hourly rates, not a fixed-price diagnostic or an all-in repair price. Confirm the applicable rate when booking. Recommended repair work is quoted separately before it begins.

Help us prepare

A few details make booking easier

  • Your neighbourhood and the type of heating equipment
  • Whether you have no heat, uneven heat or an intermittent problem
  • Any error code or new noise you've already noticed
  • The equipment's brand, model and approximate age, if readily available

Leave the diagnosis to your technician

Report what you can observe safely. Don't open equipment panels, bypass safety controls or repeatedly reset a system that keeps stopping.

Working normally and due for a tune-up?

Annual maintenance is for routine care of working equipment. Choose a diagnostic visit when there's already a heating problem.

For ongoing care and eligible service savings, compare AirZone maintenance memberships.

When heating can't wait

No heat and an urgent concern? Call us.

For urgent heating problems, including nights, weekends and holidays, call rather than waiting for an online request. Our emergency HVAC service page explains the service and what to do while waiting.

If you suspect a gas leak or carbon monoxide danger, leave the home and contact emergency authorities from a safe location first.

Before you book

Heating diagnostic questions

Can I book if I don't know which heating component is faulty?

Yes. Describe the symptoms and the heating equipment you have. A diagnostic visit is intended to investigate the cause, so you do not need to identify the failed component before booking.

Does the diagnostic visit include the repair?

No. The diagnostic visit covers the technician's assessment and investigation. Any recommended repair is quoted separately before repair work begins.

Can you help with a boiler or gas fireplace?

AirZone provides boiler and hydronic heating repairs and helps with gas fireplace repairs subject to suitable parts being available. Share your equipment details when booking. We do not service wood-burning fireplaces.

What if my equipment may still be under warranty?

Share the equipment details and any warranty information when booking. Coverage depends on the manufacturer terms, equipment age and the cause of the problem. Our team can help review whether coverage may apply; parts, labour and diagnosis may have different terms.

Let's work out the next step for your heating

Tell us what's happening and which equipment is affected. We'll help you arrange the right service visit.
