In 2005, he joined forces with Brent Lewis to create AirZone HVAC Services, combining local ownership with a higher standard for HVAC installation, repair, maintenance, and customer care in Ottawa.

His technical background includes furnaces, central air conditioners, cold-climate heat pumps, ductless mini splits, hydronic and radiant heating, indoor air quality equipment, zoning, controls, and complex comfort systems for both homes and commercial properties.
Steve has designed and project managed a wide range of HVAC projects across Ottawa, including apartment buildings on Armstrong Avenue, 20,000-square-foot custom homes on River Road, and commercial warehouse builds throughout the city. This project experience gives him a practical understanding of system design, equipment selection, installation coordination, airflow, comfort challenges, and the importance of getting the details right before, during, and after an installation.
As President, Steve helps guide AirZone’s technical standards, team training, and customer-first approach. He has trained and mentored many HVAC technicians over the years, helping build an in-house team focused on proper workmanship, honest recommendations, and dependable service. His leadership continues to support AirZone’s commitment to high-efficiency equipment, clear communication, and HVAC solutions built for Ottawa’s climate.
Steve is especially interested in advancing HVAC technology, including cold-climate heat pumps, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, smart controls, radiant comfort, and better ways to improve energy performance without sacrificing reliability.
